Japanese schools always have festivals! Most are in Middle School and High School but I think they might even do them in Elementary (or maybe that is just Sports Days)
The Highlights of my Sophia Festival Experience
- The Muscle Contest!Because who needs a reason to see guys with their shirts off? They competed by ripping up magazines, arm wrestling, carrying a damsel in distress, swimming across the pool, and drinking a mysterious energy drink. Oh, and the winner won a box of bananas
- Miss & Mister Sophia Contest - Where popularity and charm makes you famous in the school newspaper! If only I could have understood what they were saying in their 'dating game' type of set up I saw
- The Food! I only took one picture of what I ate though... Most of the clubs set up a booth and sell something, and then get members of the club to run around to attract customers (sometimes this means cross dressing)
- The Art Clubs 3D art....I don't have any photos of their amazing work except for the dismembered head from their "The Kiss" rendition
- Tim's Club/Band show- How cool is it that Tim is in a Brass Band?
- The Dance show- on the last day they had dance performances on the main stage for themost part of the day from different clubs/dance groups
